# Changing your Subconscious thoughts by Creating a Vision Board

### Question
> If I am studying the Law of Attraction, why do I need to create a vision board?
### Answer
Remember, there is no need to do anything, there are just choices. Having said this, we feel that one of your best choices in changing your subconscious mind to think differently, is creating a vision board. It is a more subtle approach, but an effective one. A vision board is something that you look at every day. It is something that sends subliminal messages to your brain without you realizing it. That is the beauty of the vision board.
Subliminal means perceived by or affecting someone's mind without their being aware of it. Subliminal messages are messages (phrases and images) that operate below the level of conscious awareness and delivered in a way to be perceived from the subconscious mind. While there is, of course, the conscious perception of looking at the board, there are also subconscious messages received by the images or words you put on your board. As a result, you are also incorporating more into your mind then you realize. This subtle shift in your subconscious mind is what begins the process of helping you to create the life you desire.
What most people don’t realize, is that things you see on a constant basis get ingrained in your subconscious mind, whether you desire it to or not. Think not? Think about the images of women and men you see on TV and in the magazines. How do you think these images affect how you perceive yourself? What is your image of a successful person? How do they dress? Are they wearing a business suit? Do they look confident? Are they wearing expensive clothes? Your perceptions of how you view certain things have been affected by the images you see on a consistent basis.
### How this relates to the Law of Attraction
As you are aware, a basic principle of the Law of Attraction is that what you focus on, consciously and subconsciously, will affect what you get in your life. Basically, your reality is created by where you are placing your attention. Again, this is conscious and subconscious as well. As a result, if you want to change what comes into your life, then you need to change your focus. As we explained above, the vision board is an excellent subtle way to do this.
