Stories of healing can have a powerful affect on others - especially someone who is suffering from an ailment themselves. In fact, we encourage you to surround yourself with stories of healing. In this way, you continuously place yourself in a vibrational state that allows for healing.
Having an ailment can make you feel hopeless, especially if your ailment is viewed as untreatable from a traditional standpoint. Getting the “untreatable" news from authorities in the medical community can hold you in that “untreatable” vibration if you aren’t continuously making changes to [shift your subconscious mind](https://www.seekwithinyou.com/blogs/134-the-power-of-your-subconscious-mind-the-law-of-attraction) to think differently. Surrounding yourself with stories of healing will give you hope and will help in this shift.
What you must try not to do, however, is get caught up in the details of how the person was healed, but rather that they did heal. The problem with focusing on the details is that everyone is different. As such, the journey to healing for everyone will be different - even if you are experiencing what physically can be considered the same condition.
### My Story of Healing
In light of hearing stories of hope, I thought I would share with you my story of healing from a chronic disease.
I developed asthma as an adult, which seemed weird to me because I felt healthy overall. As a result, I thought the asthma would soon resolve itself and so I didn’t put much thought into it. Over the next few years, however, my asthma steadily worsened - resulting in some hospital emergency visits and more medications given to me. Eventually it got to the point that I used my quick relief asthma medication, which is only supposed to be used in emergencies, 4 or more times a day. In addition, the corticosteroids I was given to control the symptoms were making me sick. I even believe the steroids led to the extreme chemical sensitivities I developed during this time as well.
At this point, I literally felt like my body was shutting down on me. My asthma had gotten my full attention now and so I started working with a specialist. Unfortunately, I was not at all happy with the prognosis. I was basically told I was going to have this condition the rest of my life. They could offer only minor relief by changing my medications and monitoring my lung capacity, however, essentially I was doomed to this fate. Asthma, after all, is considered a chronic dis-ease.
I thought to myself, no way was this going to be my destiny. I knew I could heal from this. I didn’t know how, but I knew in my core that I could heal. To make a long story short, I was led to a naturopathic doctor who started me along the path of healing. Her method addressed the food allergies found after taking a food allergy test. I then eliminated some foods from my diet - with dairy being the major player in my story.
I felt major improvements from this approach and drastically diminished my need for the inhaler. My chemical sensitivities also started to improve. However, I did not continue the full protocol of my specialist upon discovering the law of attraction and learning about the creative universe. Once I more clearly understood the scope of who I am as a creative being and the power of the mind, I began to be guided to address the thoughts and emotional issues that were at the root of my asthma and chemical sensitivities. I was led to a daily [meditation practice](https://www.seekwithinyou.com/store/product/41-qigong-meditation-dvd), [visualizations](https://www.seekwithinyou.com/blogs/131-visualization-explored-overcoming-the-belief-barrier), [affirmations](https://www.seekwithinyou.com/blogs/184-tell-a-different-story) and other holistic lifestyle changes. This is when I truly started to heal my lungs, intestinal issues and my body as a whole.

### Law of Attraction Perspective
To put this in a law of attraction perspective, I held the vibration that I could be healed and I was led on a path to healing that was unique to me. If you have a similar condition, then undoubtedly your path to healing will be different. The key is, however, to shift your thoughts about what your body can do.
Remember, you are only limited by your beliefs. If you succumb to what others believe, then you will be doomed to that fate. We are here to tell you that you can manifest health. It has been done countless times and will continue to be done by those who understand and practice that vibration.

Healing Hashimoto's
Thanks for sharing your story with us, it's always inspiring to learn about others healing journeys. Personally, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's (Autoimmune Hypothyroidism) at the age of 22, which is another 'so-called' chronic disease. I never bought into that concept and was determined to find the root cause and heal myself, and sure I did. My intuition told me to gradually wean off the medication, which never felt right in the first place. A variety of holistic remedies, full body detoxification over the course of several years, leaky gut repair, shifting to a plant based diet, a change of beliefs, stress management and lots of meditation did the trick....
